Yesterday at Ebenezer herchurch Lutheran we sent the 21 Magdalene icons back to their visionary artists \u00a0with our gratitude and blessing. \u00a0Let me share with you the icon written by Christina Gage (right) and the musings I wrote on all 21 paintings.<\/p>\n

THE MANY FACES OF HOME<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 honoring the 21 paintings by 18 visionary artists in The Many Faces of the<\/i>\u00a0Magdalene exhibit curated by Jennifer Mantle at the celebratory weekend at herchurch April 27-28, 2013, and in anticipation of San Francisco Opera\u2019s production of The Gospel of Mary Magdalene by Mark Adamo<\/i><\/p>\n

Not out of the whirlwind, from the spectrum She of Red Tears emerges.\u00a0 She anoints.\u00a0 Jennifer Mayol<\/p>\n

It was no surprise when the dove pecked her cheek the egg turned red.\u00a0 Guru Kiren<\/p>\n

You who sat next to my mother have taken on a quiet, pensive feel.\u00a0 It\u2019s about time.\u00a0 Jennifer Mantle<\/p>\n

Even the smallest of the small grows under her care.\u00a0 And the word spreads quickly.\u00a0 Elizabeth Gibbons \u201cThe Magdalene as Guardian of New Life\u201d or \u201cMary Magdalene Meets Micro Lamb\u201d<\/p>\n

The holy is no stranger to the flashy.\u00a0 Bring on the bling. \u00a0Shiloh Sophia McCloud<\/p>\n

Above as below, creating is the chalice of my intentional being.\u00a0 Leslie Nolan<\/p>\n

In a chevron of light, behold my feathery body sojourns the heart.\u00a0 Linda Joy Schomaker<\/p>\n

I come to you shy one.\u00a0 Look into my gaze.\u00a0 The candles lit. The cup ready.\u00a0 Kendall Scott<\/p>\n

Take my hand into the wild dance.\u00a0 Join raven, redwood & creek.\u00a0 Our greening will be fierce.\u00a0\u00a0 Mary Diamond<\/p>\n

You have followed the red thread.\u00a0 You swear I am she.\u00a0 And, yes, I am.\u00a0 Susan Conrad Risse<\/p>\n
